Nikki Wood, Founder and CEO
As someone who has always embraced change, Nikki moved to London in her 20s where she segued into advertising sales, eventually co-founding Technology Publishing, Ltd, which later became Montgomery Research Europe Ltd, where she served as managing director, COO and publisher for various titles. In 2000, Nikki and her cohorts at Technology Publishing were awarded the
Queens Award for Enterprise. Receiving this honor provided Nikki with
her favorite story. Not the part about meeting the Queen of England (which
was certainly surreal) but the story of her grand entrance to the gala,
down the main staircase of Buckingham Palace, where, with her usual grace
and style, she fell down the stairs – in full view of Prince Philip. Living in Marin County with her husband, two children, Baxter the dog and Crush the goldfish, Nikki‘s ethos behind Mazik Media is to: 1) build best-of-breed communities, 2) value and take a personal interest in every relationship being built, 3) continually find ways to offer what the other guys can’t, and 4) know that bigger is not always better, and integrity and tenacity are a competitive advantage. A Chicago native, Nikki has over 20 years’ experience in the publishing
industry. In her early years, Nikki was an actress and majored in theater
at Chicago’s Loyola University. She later changed her major to communications
and moved into the business realm as part of the Marketing & PR team
for Lettuce Entertain You – a hugely successful and unique restaurant
organization based in Chicago.
